Two Stratford residents are recipients of BIC scholarships. The scholarships are awarded annually to children of BIC employees and are based on the students’ scholastic achievements and community service. This year, BIC awarded a total of $115,000 in scholarships to 64 winners, including these two Stratford residents:

Brian Sharnick, who is studying Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement at the University of New Haven, received a $5,000 scholarship. He is the son of Shawn Sharnick.

Nicholas Cavoto, who is studying Chemistry at Quinnipiac University, received a $3,000 scholarship. He is the son of Donald Cavoto.

BIC Corporation began its scholarship program in 1971 to support future leaders and to help employees’ children defray the cost of college and graduate school. Over the past 43 years, BIC has awarded more than $2,220,000 in merit scholarships.
