Calling all student artists and filmmakers. AAA Northeast’s Traffic Safety Message Contest is now underway.

To compete, students from kindergarten through grade 12 create a traffic safety message in the form of a video or poster on grade-specific topics, which will ultimately be judged by AAA members.

Traffic safety topics vary by grade level and include seatbelt and booster seat use, school bus and bike safety, and distracted and impaired driving awareness. Topics by grade level are listed on www.AAA.com/safetymatters.

Between May 4-11, 2015, videos and artwork of finalists will be displayed on the website where visitors have the opportunity to vote for their favorites in each grade level. Winning entries will be announced May 15 with the winning posters showcased in a 2016 calendar and the winning videos displayed on AAA.com and used in AAA’s traffic safety education programs.

One Grand Prize winner will receive $1,000 and three runners-up from AAA Northeast’s Connecticut territory of New Haven, Litchfield, and Fairfield Counties, will receive $300, $200 and $100 prizes, respectively. Honorable mentions at each grade level will receive $50.

Entries may be submitted now through April 3, 2015 via www.AAA.com/safetymatters or mailed to: AAA Northeast, 110 Royal Little Dr., Providence, R.I. 02904, Attention: Public Affairs.
